The main choir
The main choir is the foundation of the Sølvguttene's fame.
The soloist group
The soloist group consists of the top boy sopranos in the main choir. The group is sought after for a variety of public and private events. Common uses include smaller gatherings, weddings, and funerals.
The male choir
The male choir consists of the tenor and bass singers in the main choir, all of whom are former boy singers. The gentlemen are therefore central to the concert choir, but also perform independently with a varied male choir repertoire.
VoiceOver
Our youth group "VoiceOver" consists of boy singers who have gone through voice change. The group performs music in several different genres and are popular entertainers with a twinkle in their eye! The youth group also serves as a recruitment choir for the male choir.
Marienlüst
The male choir "Marienlüst" is a group of singers from the larger male choir which does selected performances throughout the year.
Some highlights from the history of Sølvguttene
Since the beginning of Sølvguttene in 1940, more than 2.000 boys have sung in the choir, and all have contributed to the choir's fantastic development and history.
Sølvguttene was founded
Torstein "Totto" Grythe founded the boys' choir, which wore characteristic silver costumes.


The Norwegian Broadcasting boys' choir was founded
The Norwegian Broadcasting started its own boys' choir which would later merge with Sølvguttene
First recording of "Sølvguttene sings for Christmas"
The Norwegian Broadcasting shows "Sølvguttene sings for Christmas" on TV for the first time. The recording was made in Gamle Aker Church.

Totto receives the Spellemann Honorary Award
Torstein Grythe is being honored for his efforts with Sølvguttene during the Spellemann Award Ceremony.


Anniversary concert - 50 years
Sølvguttene celebrates its 50th anniversary with a concert at Oslo Concert Hall.
Performance at Notre Dame in Paris
Sølvguttene holds its first concert in the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.
